Giant Ice Ball

Today at our Zoom meeting we looked at the giant ice ball Mrs James made, and it was amazing!  Not only could you hear it begin to crack almost instantly, we noticed that the green food colouring had mainly settled on the bottom.

You can see that the ice ball has, what looks like, an explosion of bubbles in the centre of the ball.

We added salt to the top of the ice and have noticed that the salt has quickly hardened but the ice is also being eaten away quicker than the places without the salt.

We have also noticed that even though green food colouring was added, it seems that the green has been separated into more yellowy green in places, and more bluey green in others.

What a neat science experiment!

Keeping active in lockdown!

Mila and Sienna Edwards are making sure they stay active during lockdown.  Here are some photos of one of their walks where they found a tree with interesting roots.  What a beautiful area to take a walk!

Photo competition

We had one entry into our photo competition and what a cool entry it was!!! Awesome stuff Sienna Mullan.  It was creative, colourful, and followed the theme "a snails eye view".  Congratulations. You have won yourself a chocolate bar when we return to school.

Quinn's Creation

Quinn has been researching, planning and building a compost bin. He has had to problem solve along the way, measure, cut and persevere to succeed. He has been learning in the best kind of way.

Online Learning

Some of the Room 6 students have been hard at work completing some of the suggested tasks.

Loren has graphed the top 6 countries in the Paralympics using a stacked bar graph.  She has used different colours to show the different medals won by each of the countries. Well done Loren.

Sienna M needed to carefully follow instructions, cut, paste and fold in order to make these Minecraft figurines. They look great Sienna!

Mila made these brownies with help from Sienna.  I heard that they were delicious! They certainly look good!
